Branch

The Pretoria Scottish Country Dance Club was formed on 6 July 1972 by Ina Bergh, Cooks Dauth and Hetty Nash. The club became a branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society in 1982. We currently have about 30 members, ranging from advanced dancers to some very enthusiastic beginners.

Classes

We dance every Thursday evening, except before Good Friday and during the Christmas - New Year period. Classes are held in St Columba’s Presbyterian Church hall, Hilda Street, Hatfield, Pretoria, at the following times:

Class Time Teacher
General teaching 19:45-20:45 Wouter Joubert
Tea 20:45-21:00
Social dancing 21:00-22:00

In 2010 we dance until Thursday 9 December, and reopen on Thursday 13 January 2011.

Fees

Your first evening is free. Membership costs R280 per year. The fee per evening is R5 for members and R10 for guests.

Demonstrations

We have an active demonstration team who are pleased to perform at social functions, be it formal dinners, wedding receptions or outdoor events – and we'll even get the audience to join in with some dances if you like. Contact us for more information.
